Lost things found, documented and sometimes collected on my daily travels....

The ‘Lost Things’ Instagram project chronicles my daily journeys- since 2017 I have been photographing ‘Lost Things’  -  objects I have found on the ground on daily walks and runs and posting images to a purpose made instagram account. My criteria for eligible objects is things that the owner would miss, that are still useful and are made by humans. I have used this process as catharsis to deal with personal and collective anxiety - the act of hunting for these ‘treasures’  has increased the artist’s mindfulness whilst exercising. The project also reflects on my preoccupation with the emotional resonance of objects, my personal fear of losing things; and our cultures' dangerous practice of mass consumption of material objects that has led to the climate crisis we are currently facing.
